Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven QA Lead to lead our quality assurance function and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable software products. The QA Lead will be responsible for defining QA strategies, leading testing activities, mentoring QA engineers, driving test automation, and collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop test plans, test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases based on business and technical requirements.
Identify quality risks, dependencies, and gaps and develop mitigation plans.
Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers and testers.
Assign testing activities, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of QA deliverables.
Conduct code/test reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Oversee functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, usability, compatibility, and end-to-end testing.
Ensure adequate test coverage across web, mobile, APIs, and backend services as applicable.
Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify defects or ambiguities early in the development lifecycle.
Analyze defects, identify root causes, and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
Define and drive the test automation strategy across appropriate application layers.
Establish automation standards, frameworks, coding practices, and reporting mechanisms.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Ensure QA activities are appropriately planned and integrated into each sprint.
Collaborate with engineering teams to promote shift-left testing and prevention of defects.
Define and track QA KPIs and quality metrics such as defect leakage, test coverage, automation coverage, defect density, and test execution status.
Prepare regular QA status and quality reports for management and project stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
7–10 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
Proven experience leading or mentoring QA teams.
Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC processes.
Strong experience with manual and automated testing.
Hands-on experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or equivalent.
Good understanding of API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent.
Experience with SQL and database validation.
Experience working with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar test/defect management tools.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
