About the Role
Better Ledger Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced US Bookkeeper to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US bookkeeping practices and hands-on
experience working with multiple accounting software platforms. This role requires accuracy,
organization, and the ability to manage bookkeeping tasks for US-based clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate financial records for US-based clients.
* Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
* Record and categorize financial transactions.
* Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
* Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.
* Review and clean up bookkeeping records when required.
* Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of client deliverables.
* Maintain compliance with accounting standards and company procedures.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably serving US-based clients.
* Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting workflows.
* Hands-on experience with:
* QuickBooks Online
* QuickBooks Desktop
* Xero
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with multiple client accounts simultaneously.
* Familiarity with US accounting practices and financial reporting.
* Experience in an accounting firm, bookkeeping firm, or outsourced accounting environment.
