Job Overview:
The Faculty member for Commerce (Finance) will be responsible for delivering high-quality education in finance, engaging in research activities, and contributing to the overall development of the department. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about teaching, possess a strong academic background, and have a solid understanding of the evolving finance industry. The candidate should also be willing to engage in student mentoring, curriculum development, and industry interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Learning: Deliver lectures, tutorials, and seminars in finance-related subjects at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Develop and implement engaging teaching methodologies.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the design and development of finance-related course materials and programs that are aligned with current industry trends and best practices.
- Student Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to students, addressing their academic, career, and personal development needs.
- Research & Scholarly Activity: Engage in research in the field of finance, publishing research findings in reputed journals, presenting at conferences, and contributing to the academic community.
- Industry Collaboration: Facilitate industry interactions, internships, guest lectures, and workshops, to enhance students’ exposure to the practical aspects of finance.
- Administrative Support: Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and other academic and administrative activities as required by the department and institute.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field (MBA, M.Com, or equivalent). A Ph.D. or pursuing Ph.D. will be an advantage.
- Additional certifications in finance (e.g., CFA, FRM, etc.) will be considered a plus.
- Experience:
- At least 2-3 years of teaching experience in finance or related subjects in a recognized institution.
- Experience in industry (banking, finance, or related sectors) is desirable but not mandatory.
- Skills:
- Strong subject knowledge in finance, accounting, investment management, corporate finance, financial markets, etc.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in the use of educational technology and online learning tools.
- Ability to design and develop course content and learning materials.
