Job Summary
Ortho-One Orthopaedic Speciality Centre is seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant General Manager Human Resources (Hospital) to lead and oversee all HR functions across the organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for aligning HR strategies with organisational goals while fostering a high-performance, compliant, and employee-centric work culture.
The role involves leading talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, learning & development, statutory compliance, HR operations, and organisational development initiatives, ensuring seamless HR service delivery and adherence to labour laws, NABH standards, and organisational policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the hospital's vision, mission, and business objectives.
- Formulate, review, and implement HR policies, SOPs, and procedures in compliance with labour laws and NABH standards.
- Partner with the leadership team to support organisational growth and workforce planning.
2. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for doctors, nursing, allied health, and non-clinical positions.
- Develop effective sourcing strategies to attract high-quality talent within defined timelines.
- Oversee structured onboarding, induction, and probation management to ensure a positive employee experience.
3. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and employee-centric workplace culture.
- Manage employee grievances, disciplinary matters, conflict resolution, and employee counselling.
- Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives, recognition programmes, and wellness activities.
- Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and implement action plans based on feedback.
4. Training & Development
- Identify organisational training needs in collaboration with department heads.
- Develop and implement annual clinical and non-clinical training calendars.
- Monitor mandatory training compliance and evaluate training effectiveness.
- Promote leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
5. Performance Management
- Manage the annual performance appraisal process across all departments.
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Support managers in performance coaching and employee development.
6. Statutory Compliance & Audits
- Ensure 100% compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements, NABH HR standards, and other regulatory guidelines applicable to the hospital.
- Ensure compliance with statutory committees and employee welfare mechanisms, including the Internal Committee (ICC) under the POSH Act, Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC), and other committees as mandated by law or organisational policies.
- Maintain statutory registers, records, licences, notices, returns, and HR documentation as required under applicable laws.
- Coordinate and support the functioning of statutory committees by ensuring timely meetings, documentation, action tracking, and compliance reporting.
- Coordinate HR-related internal, external, statutory, and NABH audits, ensuring timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Liaise with government authorities, auditors, and regulatory bodies during inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Monitor changes in labour legislation, employment regulations, and healthcare compliance requirements, and ensure timely implementation across the organisation.
7. HR Operations & Systems
- Oversee payroll inputs, attendance, leave administration, employee records, and HRIS management.
- Ensure timely updating of employee information and document control.
- Monitor HR metrics and prepare management reports for informed decision-making.
Qualifications & Requirements
Qualification
- MBA (HR), MSW (HR), or an equivalent postgraduate qualification in Human Resources.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with significant experience in a multi-speciality hospital or healthcare organisation.
- Experience in managing end-to-end HR operations, statutory compliance, and NABH HR standards is preferred.
