4. Job purpose and Summary
The Senior Hostel Warden plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the hostel and creating a safe, disciplined, and nurturing residential environment for students. The role involves overseeing day-to-day hostel operations, student welfare, discipline, safety, and coordination with parents and school authorities to ensure the overall well-being of boarders.
The Senior Hostel Warden is responsible for:
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive residential environment for students.
- Supervising hostel operations, including student discipline, hygiene, housekeeping, and security.
- Monitoring daily routines such as wake-up schedules, study hours, meal timings, attendance, and lights-out.
- Providing pastoral care and emotional support to students and addressing their concerns effectively.
- Ensuring students adhere to hostel rules, policies, and expected standards of conduct.
- Coordinating with parents, school authorities, medical staff, and support teams regarding student welfare.
- Organizing recreational, cultural, and community-building activities for hostel residents.
- Managing hostel staff, including assistant wardens, matrons, housekeeping personnel, and support staff.
- Supporting the holistic development, safety, and well-being of all boarders.

5. Key Responsibility
A. Hostel Operations & Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the hostel and ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain discipline, cleanliness, safety, and order within the hostel premises.
- Implement and monitor hostel policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain student records, attendance registers, leave records, and hostel documentation.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and child protection guidelines.
B. Student Welfare & Pastoral Care
- Create a supportive and caring environment for all boarders.
- Monitor students' physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Counsel students on personal, behavioural, and adjustment-related concerns.
- Coordinate medical care and maintain health-related records in collaboration with the school clinic.
- Conduct regular interactions with students to understand and address their concerns.
C. Discipline & Safety Management
- Ensure adherence to hostel rules and behavioural expectations.
- Monitor student attendance and movement within and outside the hostel.
- Address disciplinary matters promptly and fairly.
- Conduct regular safety checks and emergency preparedness drills.
- Coordinate with security personnel to ensure round-the-clock safety and security.
D. Staff Supervision
- Supervise assistant wardens, matrons, housekeeping, and support staff.
- Allocate duties and monitor performance of hostel staff.
- Ensure effective coordination among all personnel involved in hostel operations.
- Promote a collaborative and professional working environment.
E. Parent & School Coordination
- Act as a point of contact for parents regarding hostel-related matters.
- Communicate student progress, well-being, and behavioural concerns when required.
- Coordinate with academic, counselling, medical, transport, and security departments to support student needs.
- Address parent concerns in a timely and professional manner.
F. Student Engagement & Development
- Organize recreational, cultural, sports, and weekend activities.
- Encourage student leadership, responsibility, and community participation.
- Foster an inclusive and positive hostel culture that promotes personal growth and mutual respect.
G. Emergency & Crisis Management
- Respond effectively to emergencies and student welfare issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain incident records and report significant matters to the management.
6. Qualification and Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3-7 years of experience in hostel administration, residential school management, or student affairs.
- Experience working in residential schools, universities, boarding schools, or student hostels preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
- Proficiency in MS Office and hostel administration processes.

Pay: ₹75,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
