Reports To
Chief Pharmacist / Pharmacy Manager
Purpose
To ensure the availability, safe storage, dispensing, and inventory management of medicines, anesthetic agents, emergency drugs, and consumables required for transplant and surgical procedures, in compliance with hospital policies and NABH standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines and consumables against authorized requisitions.
- Maintain adequate stock of transplant, anesthetic, emergency, and critical care medications.
- Monitor inventory, expiry dates, and stock levels using FIFO/FEFO principles.
- Ensure proper storage conditions and maintain temperature records.
- Manage controlled, high-alert, and emergency medications as per regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, OT nurses, and transplant teams for timely medication availability.
- Maintain pharmacy records, stock registers, and documentation as per NABH requirements.
- Participate in audits, quality initiatives, and medication safety programs.
Qualification
- D.Pharm / B.Pharm with valid State Pharmacy Council registration.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience; OT or transplant pharmacy experience preferred.
- Experience in OT Pharmacy, Critical Care Pharmacy, or Hospital Pharmacy is desirable.
Skills
- Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, medication safety, inventory management.
- Computer proficiency and Hospital Information System (HIS) knowledge.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
