We also provide product management for core enterprise platforms, and lead technology risk and information security, enterprise data governance and platforms, digital product and design, and enterprise AI platforms on behalf of the company.
We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Software Engineer with a strong engineering foundation and a passion for solving complex technical challenges. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of Maestro, a global KYC/KYB orchestration platform that manages customer data refresh and validation across the globe by coordinating data collection through digital channels or third-party providers and routing updates to the appropriate Systems of Record (SoR). Working closely with fellow engineers and engineering leaders, you will build scalable, resilient, and high-performing solutions that support millions of customer interactions while ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory and business requirements.
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience; advanced degree preferred
- Knowledge of the core tools used in the planning, analyzing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining of assigned application(s)
- Proficient in Java and Kotlin, with hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, microservices.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs, asynchronous messaging, and event-driven systems using Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
- Proficiency with relational databases, with exposure to Hadoop and Big Data ecosystems for large-scale data processing.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise frameworks and engineering standards, including Reliable Transaction Framework (RTF), HYDRA (On-Premises and Cloud), Balancing and Control (BnC), Enterprise Configuration Management (ECM), and the Amex Way of Engineering
- Experience designing and building high-throughput, low-latency systems capable of processing high transaction volumes and supporting high transactions per second (TPS)
- Familiarity with Agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Agent-to-Agent (A2A) Communication
- Experience with version control (Git), build automation, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift), and Linux/Unix environments.
Strong understanding of application security, secure data handling (in transit and at rest), secure coding practices, and automated testing.
Work Experience:
- Software engineering and development experience or a related job
- Experience in application design, software development, and automated testing
- Experience in object-oriented design and coding with variety of languages
- Experience in distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
- Experience in Agile software development methodologies and practices such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, user stories
- Experience in automation testing and documentation (i.e. automated, functional, and performance)
- Experience leveraging AI technologies, including LLMs, AI-powered development tools, or intelligent automation solutions, to enhance software development and business capabilities.
