About the Role
We are looking for an experienced SQL Developer – Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration, performance optimization, security implementation, backup and recovery management, and ensuring the high availability of business-critical databases.
The role requires hands-on experience in managing large-scale SQL Server environments, monitoring database health, troubleshooting performance bottlenecks, and supporting development teams with database-related requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Database Administration
* Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments.
* Manage database objects including tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and schemas.
* Monitor database health, availability, and overall system performance.
* Ensure database uptime and reliability across production and non-production environments.
2. Performance Management & Optimization
* Monitor and improve overall database performance.
* Analyze and optimize slow-running queries using execution plans and performance monitoring tools.
* Perform query tuning and implement effective indexing strategies.
* Identify and resolve database bottlenecks impacting application performance.
* Conduct regular database health checks and capacity planning activities.
3. Fragmentation Management
* Monitor table and index fragmentation levels.
* Perform index rebuilds and reorganizations as required.
* Implement maintenance plans to reduce fragmentation and improve query performance.
* Ensure efficient storage utilization and database optimization.
4. Backup, Recovery & Disaster Management
* Manage regular database backups (Full, Differential, and Transaction Log Backups).
* Perform backup validation and periodic recovery testing.
* Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity procedures.
* Execute database restoration activities whenever required.
5. Security Implementation
* Implement and maintain database security policies and standards.
* Manage user access, roles, permissions, and authentication mechanisms.
* Ensure data protection, encryption, and secure database practices.
* Monitor database activities and proactively address security vulnerabilities.
6. SSIS & Data Integration
* Design, develop, and maintain SSIS packages.
* Manage ETL processes and data migration activities.
* Automate data loading, transformation, and integration workflows.
* Troubleshoot SSIS package failures and optimize performance.
7. SSRS & Reporting
* Develop and maintain SSRS reports and dashboards.
* Create data-driven reports for business users and management.
* Optimize report performance and data retrieval processes.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
8. Collaboration & Support
* Work closely with Development, QA, Product, and Business teams.
* Support application deployments and database releases.
* Assist in troubleshooting production incidents and data-related issues.
* Maintain database documentation, standards, and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* 3–6 years of hands-on experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA.
* Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server Administration.
* Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Triggers, CTEs, and complex SQL queries.
* Strong experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).
* Strong experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
* Experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
* Hands-on experience with query optimization and execution plan analysis.
* Strong knowledge of indexing strategies and fragmentation management.
* Experience with backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
* Strong understanding of database security implementation and access management.
* Experience handling large databases and high-volume transactional systems.
* Knowledge of SQL Server Maintenance Plans and database monitoring tools.
* Familiarity with SQL Server Agent Jobs and automation.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a product-based or logistics technology company.
* Exposure to High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments.
* Knowledge of SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Replication, Log Shipping, and Clustering.
* Exposure to cloud database environments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.) is an added advantage.
Pay: ₹353,347.84 - ₹800,000.00 per year
