As a Chef de Partie for North Indian & Tandoor, your key responsibilities will include supporting the Executive Chef and kitchen team in producing high-quality food, maintaining a smooth kitchen operation, and ensuring adherence to established standards. Core duties will include:
- Preparing and cooking dishes to the highest standard, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation.
- Assisting with the development of new menu items under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Ensuring all ingredients are properly stored, prepared, and used to minimize waste.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Training and mentoring junior team members to foster growth and maintain high kitchen standards.
- Collaborating with the team to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Monitoring portion sizes, food preparation methods, and garnishes to meet brand expectations.
- Assisting in the management of kitchen supplies by conducting inventory checks and reporting shortages.
- Proactively addressing maintenance, hygiene, and safety concerns to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and best practices.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive customer experience.
- Taking responsibility for specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring the readiness and cleanliness of those areas.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or a high-performing Demi Chef de Partie in a professional kitchen.
- Expertise in a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines, with a focus on Pan-Asian or fine dining establishments being an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality dishes.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from senior chefs.
Preferred Bonus Qualifications:
- Formal culinary training or certification.
- Familiarity with kitchen management tools and basic computer skills.
