Software Engineer – C/C++ & Unix Internals (Card Payments)
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications using C and C++ on Unix/Linux platforms.
Work on Unix internals including process management, IPC, multithreading, and performance tuning.
Develop and optimize PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, and database queries for payment transaction processing.
Implement and maintain modules for card payment systems (authorization, settlement, reconciliation, EMV, ISO8583 messaging).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant payment solutions.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and apply fixes with minimal downtime.
Ensure adherence to PCI-DSS and other payment industry security standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong programming skills in C, C++ with hands-on experience in Unix/Linux internals.
Proficiency in PL/SQL and relational database concepts (preferably Oracle).
Solid understanding of card payment processing workflows and protocols (ISO8583, EMV).
Experience with debugging tools (gdb, valgrind) and performance profiling.
Knowledge of secure coding practices in payment systems.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Good to Have:
Exposure to Java or scripting languages (Shell, Python).
Experience with HSM integration and cryptographic key management.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
