Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Blood Bank Counsellor to provide counselling and guidance to blood donors, patients, and their families. The candidate will educate donors about the blood donation process, conduct pre- and post-donation counselling, support voluntary blood donation initiatives, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-donation and post-donation counselling to blood donors.
- Educate donors on the eligibility criteria, benefits, and safety of blood donation.
- Assess donor history and identify any concerns that may require further evaluation by the medical team.
- Counsel patients and attendants regarding blood availability, donation procedures, and blood bank services.
- Promote voluntary blood donation and participate in donor awareness and recruitment activities.
- Maintain donor confidentiality and ensure ethical handling of personal information.
- Coordinate with blood bank staff, clinicians, and other hospital departments for smooth service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and counselling reports.
- Address donor and patient queries with empathy and professionalism.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, blood bank protocols, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- MSW (Master of Social Work), a Bachelor's/Master's degree in a relevant healthcare or behavioural science field.

- Basic computer knowledge and documentation skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Awareness of blood donation practices and donor care is an added advantage.
Experience
- Previous experience in counselling, healthcare, blood banks, NGOs, or hospital settings will be an added advantage.
Pay: From ₹15,000.00 per month
