We are looking for an experienced, student-centered Cybersecurity Teacher to design and deliver hands-on courses that build practical defensive and awareness skills among learners. The ideal candidate will create accessible curriculum and labs covering fundamentals of cybersecurity, safe computing practices, network security, and ethical hacking basics, and will mentor students toward ethical, responsible use of skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver classroom and lab-based lessons on cybersecurity fundamentals: digital hygiene, threat landscape, OS and network basics, encryption, authentication, secure coding, vulnerability assessment, and incident response.
- Create structured syllabi, lesson plans, lab exercises, capture-the-flag (CTF) challenges, assessments, and project briefs tailored to learners’ levels.
- Teach practical skills: Linux command line, networking (TCP/IP), basic scripting (Python, Bash), use of security tools (Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite, Metasploit basics), and secure configuration.
- Guide students through ethical hacking principles, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing methodology (theory and safe lab practice), and red/blue team basics.
- Supervise hands-on labs with isolation and safety controls to prevent misuse.
- Assess student progress through practical tests, CTFs, project work, and provide constructive feedback.
- Integrate cybersecurity awareness and best practices across other programs (privacy, social engineering awareness).
- Maintain lab infrastructure (virtual machines, sandboxed environments, VPNs, and cloud labs); manage access and safety policies.
- Keep course content updated with current threats, defensive tools, and compliance/regulatory basics relevant to India.
- Organize workshops, guest lectures, and outreach training for community groups where needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Electronics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in cybersecurity roles (SOC analyst, penetration testing, security engineering) or 1–2 years teaching cybersecurity with proven outcomes.
- Strong practical skills with Linux, networking concepts, and common security tools.
- Familiarity with secure coding concepts and basic scripting (Python/Bash).
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and mentoring skills.
- Clear understanding of legal and ethical issues around offensive security and data privacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, OSCP, CISSP (or equivalent) are advantageous.
- Experience working with NGOs, schools, or underserved learners.
- Experience with cloud security basics (AWS/GCP/Azure) and container security.
- Prior experience building CTFs, labs, or community security programs.
Skills and Attributes
- Passion for teaching and empowering learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to explain complex technical topics simply and safely.
- Strong ethical judgment, patience, and cultural sensitivity.
- Problem-solving skills and collaborative mindset.
Safety and Legal Compliance
