Job Summary
The AV Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment across the hotel. The role ensures smooth technical execution of meetings, conferences, weddings, banquets, corporate events, and other hotel functions while maintaining high standards of service and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate audio-visual equipment for meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, and other events.
- Handle microphones, speakers, amplifiers, mixers, projectors, LED screens, TVs, laptops, lighting equipment, and presentation systems.
- Conduct pre-event checks to ensure all AV equipment is functioning properly.
- Provide on-site technical support during events and promptly resolve technical issues.
- Coordinate with the Banquets, F&B, Sales, and Events teams to understand and fulfil AV requirements.
- Assist guests and event organizers with presentations, video playback, conferencing systems, and other technical requirements.
- Install, configure, test, and dismantle AV equipment as required.
- Maintain proper handling, storage, and inventory of AV equipment and accessories.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs of AV equipment.
- Identify equipment faults and coordinate with external vendors or service providers when required.
- Maintain records of equipment usage, maintenance, repairs, and breakdowns.
- Ensure all AV setups comply with hotel safety standards and operational procedures.
- Support the hotel during special events, VIP functions, conferences, and high-volume operational periods.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous technical support to guests and colleagues.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the management in line with operational requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of professional audio, video, projection, LED, and presentation equipment.
- Basic knowledge of sound mixing, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and audio systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot common AV and connectivity issues.
- Knowledge of HDMI, VGA, XLR, AUX, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other AV connections.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple event requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Good guest-handling and service orientation.
- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and during extended event hours.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / ITI / Certificate in Electronics, Electrical, AV Technology, IT, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in a hotel, convention centre, event company, or corporate AV environment.
- Experience in a 5-star hotel or reputed hospitality/event environment will be an advantage.
- Tamil speaking candidates preferred.

Pay: ₹21,966.87 - ₹30,604.26 per month
