Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Duty Medical Officer (RMO) to provide high-quality medical care to inpatients and outpatients at our 10-bedded hospitals in Kovilpatti and Kalugumalai. The |DMO will support consultants, manage emergencies, and ensure continuous patient care, playing a key role in diagnosis, treatment, and overall hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Assess, examine, diagnose, and treat patients in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Provide round-the-clock medical coverage as per duty roster.
- Manage medical emergencies and stabilize critically ill patients.
- Perform routine medical procedures including suturing of wounds, application of POP (Plaster of Paris) casts/splints, and endotracheal intubation when clinically indicated.
- Perform and assist in other bedside procedures such as IV cannulation, catheterization, NG tube insertion, and wound dressing.
- Assist in surgeries and procedures as required.
- Monitor patient progress and update treatment plans accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
Patient Care & Communication
- Explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedures to patients and families.
- Obtain informed consent when necessary.
- Ensure compassionate, ethical, and patient-centered care at all times.
Coordination & Administration
- Collaborate with consultants, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Participate in ward rounds, emergency calls, and clinical meetings.
- Follow hospital policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards.
Professional Development
- Keep up to date with medical advancements and best practices.
- Participate in training programs, CME activities, and case discussions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid medical license/registration with the relevant medical council.
- 0–10 years of clinical experience (fresh graduates may apply if internship completed)
Preferred Skills
- Experience in emergency medicine, trauma care, or critical care.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
