To operate, monitor, and maintain the ammonia refrigeration system efficiently and safely, ensuring uninterrupted cooling for production while complying with all safety, statutory, and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, cooling towers, and related equipment.
- Monitor refrigeration system parameters such as pressure, temperature, oil level, ammonia level, and compressor performance.
- Conduct routine inspections of the refrigeration plant and identify abnormal conditions.
- Record operating parameters in shift logbooks and prepare daily reports.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance activities as instructed.
- Monitor ammonia leaks and respond immediately according to emergency procedures.
- Ensure uninterrupted chilled water, glycol, and cold room operations.
- Maintain required refrigeration temperatures in processing and storage areas.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams during shutdowns and start-ups.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the refrigeration plant.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working.
- Report equipment failures, safety hazards, and incidents immediately.
- Support annual maintenance and statutory inspections.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and environmental standards.
