Jewellery Designer – Bengali Heritage & Traditional Designs
Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Jewellery Designer with strong knowledge of traditional Bengali jewellery aesthetics and craftsmanship. The ideal candidate should have experience designing bridal, heritage, temple, and contemporary Bengali-inspired jewellery collections while understanding market trends, customer preferences, and production feasibility.
The designer will work closely with the production, merchandising, and sales teams to create unique designs that reflect Bengali culture, elegance, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Design original jewellery collections inspired by traditional Bengali jewellery styles such as:
- Shakha Pola inspired concepts
- Chur
- Sitahar
- Ratanchur
- Jadau and antique Bengali bridal jewellery
- Temple and filigree-inspired patterns
- Create hand sketches, CAD designs, and detailed technical drawings.
- Develop bridal, festive, lightweight, and contemporary fusion collections.
- Research Bengali cultural motifs, heritage patterns, and regional jewellery trends.
- Coordinate with artisans, karigars, and manufacturing teams for sample development.
- Ensure designs are practical for production while maintaining aesthetic quality.
- Select gemstones, textures, finishes, and metal combinations suitable for Bengali jewellery styling.
- Modify and customize designs based on client requirements.
- Stay updated on jewellery fashion trends, market demand, and competitor collections.
- Maintain design archives, mood boards, and collection documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Jewellery Design, Fashion Accessories, or related field.
- Strong understanding of Bengali traditional jewellery styles and bridal aesthetics.
- Proficiency in jewellery CAD software such as:
- Rhino
- Matrix
- JewelCAD
- AutoCAD
- Excellent sketching and conceptualization skills.
- Knowledge of gold, diamond, kundan, polki, meenakari, antique, and filigree jewellery.
- Understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes and gemstone settings.
- Creative mindset with attention to detail and finishing.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Experience
- 2–6 years of experience in jewellery design.
- Experience working with Bengali bridal jewellery brands or heritage jewellery collections.
- Portfolio showcasing Bengali-inspired or traditional Indian jewellery designs.
- Experience in custom bridal jewellery development is an advantage.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
