Job Summary
The Cashier is responsible for handling all cash, cheque, card, and digital transactions related to vehicle sales, service, spare parts, and other dealership operations. The role ensures accurate billing, timely receipt collection, proper documentation, daily cash reconciliation, and excellent customer service while complying with company financial policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive payments through cash, cheque, credit/debit cards, UPI, and other digital payment methods.
- Generate invoices and payment receipts for vehicle sales, service, spare parts, and accessories.
- Verify customer payment details and ensure transaction accuracy.
- Maintain the daily cash book and prepare cash collection reports.
- Perform daily cash reconciliation and submit reports to the Accounts Department.
- Deposit daily cash collections into the designated bank account as per company policy.
- Handle customer refunds, advances, and credit note transactions with proper authorization.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and supporting documents.
- Coordinate with the Accounts, Service, Sales, and Spare Parts departments to resolve billing issues.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and internal audit requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Assist during internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service while handling payments and billing queries.
- Keep the cashier counter clean, organized, and secure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B. Com) or equivalent.
- Diploma in Accounting or Finance (preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience as a Cashier or Accounts Assistant in an automobile dealership or similar industry.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications may also be considered.
