Database Administrator: Engineer for MySQL DBA and Postgres DBA
Minimum 1.5 years of experience in MySQL Database Administratrations.
Secondary database knowledge of Postgres database preferred
Ø A Good Knowledge of MySQL database replication
Ø Optimize MySQL database performance
Ø Responsible for database integrity, security
Ø Sound knowledge in MySQL backup and Recovery
Ø Responsible for MySQL DB build, HA Build and Replication configurations
Ø Estimate MySQL database capacities; develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage
Ø Establish mechanisms for data backup/restore of relational databases provide restoration services as needed
Ø Develop and optimize physical design of MySQL database systems
Ø Develop application-specific fault-tolerant distributed database mechanisms
Ø Knowledge of MongoDB or MariaDB or PostgreSQL would be plus
Ø Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Ø Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Ø Good written and oral communication skills
Ø MySQL cluster technologies experience is also preferred.
Ø Installing and Configuring PostgreSQL from source or packages on Linux machines.
Ø Setup and maintenance of postgres master-slave clusters utilizing streaming replication (BDR)
Ø Maintaining custom vacuum strategies at table and db level
Education:
Bachelors/Maters degree (BSc/BE/BTech/MCA)
Certification:
MySQL Administrator Certified (Preferred)
ITIL (desirable)
Roles & Responsibilities
Ø Installation of various MySQL and PostgreSQL databases on x64-bit Linux Operating System
Ø Ability to work Independently, self-starter, good team player with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Ø Migrating data from one version to another or from different databases.
Ø Creating Database Maintenance plans, rebuild/ reorganize indexes & performing integrity checks
Ø Experience in performance analysis and/or performance optimizations.
Ø Perform Database Backups, Recovery, Restore
Ø Server performance debugging (event log, request monitoring)
Ø Work closely with different teams like development, operations, security, and external stakeholders.
Ø Able to manage multiple tasks effectively and forecast/plan different database activities
Ø Work on New Features, Migrations POC's and different DB projects.
Ø Provide support when necessary.
