Job Description: CDM Smith is hiring a Senior Engineer / hydraulic modeler to work on gravity and pressurized network Projects. This role will be supporting our Middle East Projects. To perform the role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Responsibilities - • Conduct gravity and pressure network hydraulic modeling (Stormwater, Sewerage, Water, Irrigation, Fire water network) for wet utilities and prepare feasibility reports, detailed design reports, tender documentation etc. • Obtain design NOC from local authorities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain. • Prepare detail design up to IFC level drawings. Requirements - • Proficient in 1D & 2D modeling and developing hydraulic models in Infoworks ICM, SewerGEMs, WaterGEMS. Writing Ruby codes and automation tools for hydraulic modeling. • Capable of detailed design, drawings, tender specification packages, and effective communication with teams and clients • Hands on working experience in Sewerage, Stormwater, Irrigation, Water supply design projects for road and infrastructure projects for developments, municipal or government projects • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in municipal and private development projects • Experience with government and private development projects in UAE, Qatar, and the Middle East is preferred. Extensive use of ICM tools for UK Storm water projects can be considered. Skills & Abilities: Expert knowledge of GIS software and practices. Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert Knowledge of engineering principles of design. Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics as appropriate for technical work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Solid knowledge of other support tools such as mathematical models, scripting languages, etc. Qualifications: Bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering or Water resources or Environmental Engineering 10 -12 years of experience in Hydrology and Hydraulic Modelling and Design Proficient in engineering planning software tools such as 1D – 2D InfoWorks ICM, GIS ArcMap, SewerGEMs, WaterGEMs, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS Professional Qualifications will be added as an advantage Good written and verbal English language communication skills Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands Amount of Travel Required: No Travel is required Background Check and Drug Testing Information: CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as “CDM Smith”) reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions.
