Emergency Technician – Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist doctors and nurses in providing emergency and critical patient care.
- Receive and assess patients arriving at the Emergency Department and assist with immediate care.
- Prepare emergency equipment, instruments, and treatment areas before procedures.
- Assist in CPR, resuscitation, and other emergency procedures as instructed by medical professionals.
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs such as BP, pulse, SpO₂, temperature, and respiratory rate.
- Assist with patient shifting and transportation to ICU, OT, diagnostic areas, and other departments.
- Ensure emergency drugs, equipment, oxygen supply, and other essential items are readily available.
- Assist in wound dressing, splinting, immobilization, and basic emergency procedures as required.
- Maintain cleanliness, readiness, and proper functioning of emergency equipment.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, ambulance staff, laboratory, radiology, and other departments for timely patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to emergency care.
- Follow hospital infection-control, safety, and emergency protocols.
- Respond promptly to emergency codes and support the medical team during critical situations.
- Check and maintain emergency trolley and equipment on a regular basis.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Emergency Department In-charge or management.
Emergency Technician – Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Sc. in Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) or equivalent qualification.
- 0–3 years of experience in Emergency Department / Trauma Care / Critical Care is preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications may also be considered.
- Basic knowledge of CPR, BLS, first aid, and emergency procedures.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
