Soft Services Executive - Electrical Manufacturing IndustryRole OverviewA Soft Services Executive in the electrical manufacturing sector manages non-technical facility services that support daily operations and employee wellbeing. This role ensures the manufacturing environment remains clean, safe, comfortable, and conducive to productivity.
Key ResponsibilitiesFacility Management: The executive oversees housekeeping operations across manufacturing floors, offices, warehouses, and common areas. They maintain cleaning schedules that accommodate production shifts and ensure compliance with manufacturing cleanliness standards, particularly important in electrical component assembly where dust and contaminants can affect product quality.
Vendor Management: They coordinate multiple service providers including cleaning contractors, landscaping teams, pest control services, catering vendors, and waste management companies. Contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and cost optimization fall under their purview.
Health & Safety Compliance: In manufacturing settings, they ensure soft services support overall safety protocols - proper waste segregation (especially hazardous materials), emergency exit accessibility, adequate lighting in non-production areas, and hygiene standards that prevent workplace accidents.
Employee Services: Managing cafeteria operations, transportation services for shift workers, uniform/PPE distribution, and workplace amenities that support employee satisfaction and retention in manufacturing environments.
Sustainability Initiatives: Implementing waste reduction programs, energy-efficient practices in soft service operations, and environmental compliance related to service activities.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field
3-5 years experience in soft services or facility management, preferably in manufacturing
Knowledge of manufacturing environment requirements and safety standards
Vendor management and contract negotiation skills
Budget management capabilities
Key CompetenciesStrong coordination abilities to manage multiple service streams simultaneously, understanding of manufacturing workflows to minimize operational disruption, problem-solving skills for quick service recovery, and effective communication across blue-collar and white-collar workforces.
This role bridges operational efficiency with employee experience, ensuring the manufacturing facility runs smoothly beyond the production line itself.
