Role Overview
G3 Renewables is seeking a motivated Junior Research Associate to conduct a comprehensive field assessment of municipal food waste across Kerala. You will travel to various municipalities to collect quantitative and qualitative data on organic waste generation, current disposal practices, and supply chain logistics. Your findings will directly inform the design and scaling of our upcoming waste-to-energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Data Collection: Visit assigned municipalities daily to conduct physical waste audits and characterization studies.
- Stakeholder Interviews: Interview municipal officials, waste handlers, Kudumbashree workers, and commercial waste generators.
- Quantity Estimation: Measure and calculate daily, weekly, and seasonal food waste generation volumes using standardized metrics.
- Logistics Mapping: Document existing waste collection routes, transportation mechanisms, and active disposal dump sites.
- Report Writing: Compile clean data sheets and daily field reports to submit to the central project management team.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Social Work (MSW), Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
- Languages: Native-level fluency in Malayalam, Hindi and English is mandatory for community interaction, along with working knowledge of English.
- Travel: Must possess a valid two-wheeler/four-wheeler license and be willing to travel extensively across Kerala.
- Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or mobile data collection apps
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience in field research, socio-economic surveys, or the waste management sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills to navigate government offices and build local rapport.
- Ability to work independently in outdoor and challenging field environments.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
