Job Description (JD) – English Teacher
Department: Academics
Reporting To: Principal / Academic Coordinator
Location: As per assignment
Salary: Up to ₹25,000 per month (Based on qualifications, skills, and experience)
Job Summary
The English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English language and literature, developing students' reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills, and fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver effective English lessons as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, worksheets, and assessments.
- Encourage active participation and critical thinking among students.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
Student Assessment
- Conduct tests, assignments, and examinations.
- Assess and monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Support students requiring additional academic assistance.
Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment.
- Ensure regular attendance and participation of students.
- Implement school policies and academic standards.
Parent & School Coordination
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and academic discussions.
- Communicate student progress and concerns to parents and management.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve educational outcomes.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain student records and academic documentation.
- Participate in school events, training programs, and extracurricular activities.
- Perform other academic duties assigned by the school management.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field.
- B.Ed. preferred.
- Master's Degree in English is an added advantage.
Experience
- 0–3 years of teaching experience.
- Freshers with excellent English communication skills are encouraged to apply.
Required Skills
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong knowledge of English grammar and literature.
- Good classroom management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, online teaching tools).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
