Summary
The CLM Consultant / Configuration Engineer is responsible for implementing, configuring, and optimizing Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions aligned to client business processes and compliance requirements. This role involves configuring workflows, templates, approval hierarchies, roles, permissions, and business rules within CLM platforms to support enterprise contracting operations.
The role requires close collaboration with business analysts, technical leads, project stakeholders, and end users to ensure successful implementation and adoption of CLM solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience delivering end-to-end CLM implementations across one or more leading CLM platforms.
Job Responsibilities
Configure and implement CLM solutions to meet client and project requirements, including workflows, templates, approval hierarchies, business rules, and notifications.
Implement and manage user roles, permissions, access controls, and security configurations within CLM platforms.
Collaborate with business analysts, technical leads, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable CLM configurations and solutions.
Participate in requirement gathering, solution design discussions, configuration workshops, testing, and deployment activities.
Test and validate configurations to ensure functionality, usability, compliance, and system performance requirements are met.
Troubleshoot configuration-related issues and work with technical teams to resolve complex implementation challenges.
Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, workflows, business rules, and implementation activities.
Support user training, user acceptance testing (UAT), go-live activities, and postimplementation support.
Recommend process improvements and CLM best practices to enhance contract management efficiency and user adoption.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
Required Skills
4–6 years of overall professional experience with at least 2 full lifecycle implementations of Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions.
Hands-on implementation and configuration experience with any of the leading CLM platforms such as Agiloft, Malbek, or Leah (previously ContractPodAi) is required.
Strong experience configuring workflows, templates, approval processes, clause libraries, business rules, forms, roles, and permissions within CLM platforms.
Good understanding of CLM best practices, contract workflows, compliance requirements, and process optimization.
Experience working closely with business users, legal teams, procurement teams, and technical stakeholders in enterprise environments.
Certification in one of these CLM tools is mandatory - Agiloft, Malbek, Leah (formerly ContractPodAi).
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with one or more additional CLM platforms such as Ironclad, Conga, or Docusign is an added advantage.
Experience in documentation, testing, validation, and user support activities is preferred.
