Interior and Carpentry Supervisor job description;
An Interior and Carpentry Supervisor leads on-site woodworking teams, coordinates with interior designers, and ensures finishing works (like cabinetry, false ceilings, and furniture) are completed to specification. They manage schedules, enforce safety protocols, and conduct quality control to guarantee projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Direct, train, and oversee daily activities of carpenters and sub-contractors on-site.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and analyze architectural blueprints, CAD drawings, and cutting lists to guide workers on exact assembly and installation.
- Quality Control: Inspect the craftsmanship of interior woodwork, joinery, and structural finishes to ensure they meet project standards and client expectations.
- Resource Management: Estimate material requirements, track inventory, and ensure tools and hardware are used efficiently.
- Cross-trade Coordination: Work alongside other construction professionals, including electricians, plumbers, painters, and site managers.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict health and safety regulations at the job site and ensure team members use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
- Progress Reporting: Maintain daily logs of site activities, resolve on-site troubleshooting issues, and update project managers or clients on deadlines.
