Indrene is looking for a smart and practical Buyer / Sourcing Executive who can help us source the right products directly from manufacturers, agents, wholesalers, suppliers.
The main work will be to find good-selling products in sarees, suits, lehengas, kurtis, dress material, and other ethnic wear categories at the right price, right margin, and right quality.
We are building a value-led ethnic wear retail brand, so the buyer must understand both fashion and commercial buying — not just expensive products, but products that customers actually buy.
Key Responsibilities
- Source sarees, suits, lehengas, kurtis, and ethnic wear products from manufacturers, agents, wholesalers.
- Visit markets such as Delhi, Surat, Jaipur, Kolkata, Varanasi, and other relevant sourcing hubs when required.
- Identify fast-moving designs, price points, fabrics, colors, and categories.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, margin, and delivery timelines with vendors.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships.
- Check product quality, finishing, packaging, and pricing before purchase.
- Track slow-moving and fast-moving stock and improve future buying decisions.
- Coordinate with store team to understand customer demand and sales feedback.
- Help build private-label under the Indrene brand in the future.
- Maintain purchase records, vendor details, and product costing.
Required Skills
- Good understanding of sarees, ethnic wear, women’s fashion, fabrics, and current market trends.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Practical knowledge of wholesale markets and vendor dealing.
- Ability to judge product quality, price, margin, and saleability.
- Basic Excel / Google Sheets knowledge.
- Honest, disciplined, and willing to travel.
- Should be able to work with targets and buying budgets.
Preferred Candidate
- Someone who has worked in saree, ethnic wear, women’s wear, retail buying, wholesale sourcing, or manufacturing.
- Candidate with experience in Delhi / Surat / Jaipur / Kolkata / Varanasi sourcing will be preferred.
- Candidate who understands tier-2 and tier-3 city customer preferences will be highly preferred.
