Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications
- Inspect electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and wiring
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and identify hazards
- Ensure all work complies with local and national electrical codes and safety regulations
- Test electrical systems using testing devices to ensure proper functioning
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers as needed
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Respond to emergency repair requests when necessary
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrician apprenticeship program
- Valid electrician license/certification as required by state or local regulations
- Proven experience as an electrician
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety standards
- Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints
- Good physical condition and ability to work in various environments (heights, confined spaces, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license (if travel between job sites is required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized certifications (e.g., low voltage, industrial wiring, solar installation)
- Experience with smart home or automation systems
