Job Summary:
The Commis 3 is responsible for assisting in basic food preparation and supporting senior kitchen staff in all areas of the kitchen. This role is ideal for someone beginning their culinary career and looking to gain practical experience in a professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients (e.g., washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, portioning meats).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas.
- Follow recipes and instructions as directed by senior chefs.
- Support chefs in plating and garnishing dishes.
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers according to food safety standards.
- Dispose of waste and handle cleaning duties as required.
- Observe and adhere to hygiene and safety practices at all times.
- Attend kitchen briefings and training sessions as required.
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Carry out any other kitchen duties as assigned by supervisor.
