Job Purpose
To ensure the smooth functioning, upkeep, and maintenance of the school's infrastructure, equipment, furniture, electrical fixtures, plumbing systems, and general facilities. The Handyman & Maintenance Staff is responsible for attending to routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and supporting the overall safety and cleanliness of the campus.
Key Responsibilities1. Building Maintenance
- Carry out routine inspections of classrooms, offices, laboratories, washrooms, corridors, and common areas.
- Perform minor repairs to doors, windows, locks, furniture, partitions, and fixtures.
- Repair damaged desks, chairs, cupboards, notice boards, and classroom equipment.
- Ensure all school facilities remain safe and operational.
2. Electrical Maintenance
- Replace faulty bulbs, tube lights, switches, sockets, and other electrical accessories.
- Assist electricians during major maintenance works.
- Monitor electrical equipment and report any defects immediately.
- Ensure proper functioning of fans, lights, projectors, and other classroom electrical systems.
3. Plumbing Maintenance
- Attend to minor plumbing issues such as leaking taps, blocked drains, flushing systems, and water supply lines.
- Conduct periodic checks of washrooms and drinking water facilities.
- Coordinate with external vendors for major plumbing repairs.
4. Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct preventive maintenance checks according to the maintenance schedule.
- Maintain records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Report infrastructure issues requiring immediate attention.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned maintenance work orders.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Follow all school safety protocols while carrying out maintenance work.
- Use tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Report hazardous conditions, safety risks, or structural concerns.
- Assist during emergency situations and evacuation procedures.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in maintenance, facility management, or handyman services.
- Experience in educational institutions will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and repair skills.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot maintenance issues.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices.
- Time management and multitasking abilities.
- Teamwork and service-oriented attitude.
- Physical fitness to perform maintenance duties.

Working Hours
As per school timings and maintenance requirements. Additional support may be required during events, examinations, vacations, and emergency situations.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
