Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Semi-Qualified CA or Advocate to handle direct and indirect tax compliances, advisory, and litigation support. The candidate will work closely with seniors and clients on various taxation matters and assist in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Tax Compliance:
- Preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns for individuals, firms, LLPs, trusts, and companies
- Preparation and filing of TDS/TCS returns and related compliances
- Assistance in tax audits and preparation of tax audit workings
- Computation of advance tax and self-assessment tax liabilities
- Preparation of income tax computations and reconciliations
- Ensuring timely compliance with notices, intimations, and statutory deadlines
- Coordination with clients for collection and verification of financial data and supporting documents
Indirect Tax (GST) Compliance:
- Preparation and review of GST returns including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C
- GST reconciliation with books of accounts and GSTR-2A/2B
- Handling GST registrations, amendments, LUT applications, and cancellations
- Assistance in GST audits, annual compliances, and refund applications
- Monitoring compliance timelines and maintaining GST compliance trackers
- Reviewing applicability of GST provisions on various transactions
- Coordination with clients for GST data, reconciliations, and compliance requirements
Advisory & Research:
- Assisting in providing advisory on Direct Tax and GST implications for business transactions
- Research on provisions, notifications, circulars, and judicial precedents under Income Tax and GST laws
- Preparation of technical notes, opinions, and compliance memos
- Assistance in tax planning and transaction structuring assignments
- Identifying tax risks, non-compliances, and suggesting corrective measures
- Support in client consultations and preparation of advisory presentations/reports
- Keeping track of amendments and regulatory changes in taxation laws
Litigation & Assessment Support:
- Drafting replies to notices issued under Income Tax and GST laws
- Assistance in handling scrutiny assessments, departmental audits, and investigations
- Preparation of submissions, reconciliations, and supporting documents for assessments and appeals
- Coordinating with tax authorities and departmental officials for ongoing matters
- Assistance in preparation and filing of appeals before appellate authorities
- Conducting case law research and preparing litigation summaries
- Supporting seniors in representation matters before tax authorities and tribunals
Eligibility Criteria:
- Semi-Qualified CA / Advocate
- Experience: 1–4 years in Direct and Indirect Taxation (preferably in a CA firm)
Required Skills:
- Good understanding of Income Tax and GST laws
- Strong drafting, analytical, and research skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
- Good communication and client-handling abilities
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and adhere to deadlines
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in handling tax notices and assessments independently
- Exposure to litigation and advisory assignments
- Knowledge of departmental procedures and compliance systems
