Job Title: Security Guard – Mall Division
Location: Lulu International Shopping Malls, Trivandrum, Kerala (in-person role)
Job Purpose
To ensure the safety and security of the mall premises, employees, tenants, visitors, and assets by monitoring, preventing, and responding to security risks, incidents, and emergencies while maintaining a safe and customer-friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety & Security Patrol
- Conduct regular patrols of mall interiors, exteriors, parking areas, entrances/exits, and other assigned zones to deter crime and ensure order.
- Maintain high visibility of duty to prevent theft, vandalism, trespassing, and disruptive behaviour.
2. Entrance & Access Control
- Check identification, visitor passes, and authorize entrance/exit for customers, staff, vendors, and delivery personnel.
- Monitor and control access to restricted or secured zones.
3. Surveillance & Monitoring
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems, alarm systems, and other security equipment to detect suspicious activities.
- Report malfunctioning equipment or security vulnerabilities promptly.
4. Incident Response & Emergency Handling
- Respond quickly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, fire alerts, or medical situations.
- Assist with crowd control, evacuation procedures, and coordinate with emergency responders where necessary.
- Provide basic first aid support until professional help arrives (if trained).
5. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate security logs, incident reports, daily activity sheets, and documentation of unusual occurrences.
- Submit timely reports to supervisors or mall management.
6. Customer Engagement & Service
- Provide directions, safety information, and assistance to shoppers and tenants when required.
- Handle visitor inquiries professionally while maintaining security protocols.
7. Team Coordination
- Work closely with supervisors, other security personnel, mall services, and local law enforcement agencies as the situation demands.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: SSLC, Plus two, Degree
- Experience: Prior experience in security operations, preferably in malls, retail, or high-footfall public spaces.
- Skills:
- Strong observation and situational awareness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions during emergency situations.
- Basic understanding of CCTV, alarms, and security tools (preferred).
- First Aid/CPR certification (desirable).
Work Conditions
- Shift work including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping seasons.
- Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
- Must be physically fit and alert at all times.

Reports to: Security Supervisor / Mall Security Manager / Mall Operations Head
Performance Metrics
- Timeliness and accuracy of patrols and reports.
- Incident prevention and response effectiveness.
- Professional conduct and interaction with visitors/staff.
- Compliance with mall security policies and procedures.
