Job Summary: Quality Inspector – Heavy Fabrica on & Machining Items.
Job Purpose
Ensure mely and thorough inspec on of heavy fabricated and machined components.
Coordinate inspec on ac vi es both in-house and at supplier loca ons, adhering to
established standards.
Key Result Areas
Conduct inspec ons using calibrated instruments with hands-on exper se.
Deliver mely inspec on reports and decisions.
Maintain effec ve vendor coordina on.
Pursue con nuous self-development.
Core Responsibili es
Interpret engineering drawings (First & Third angle projec ons).
Understand and apply Quality Assurance Plans (QAP).
Perform raw material tes ng, including lab analysis and Non-Destruc ve Tes ng (NDT).
Inspect components per purchase order scope at vendor sites.
Execute inspec ons in heavy machine shops using appropriate tools.
Demonstrate knowledge of machining opera ons:
o Turning, Milling, Shaping, Grinding, Buffing
o Slo ng, Boring, Jig Boring, Honing, Hobbing, etc.
Con nuously update technical knowledge and skills.
Compliance & Standards
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 18001
(Occupa onal Health & Safety).
Decision-Making Authority
Make inspec on-related decisions in consulta on with immediate superior.
Qualifica on & Experience
Graduate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed university.
3–4 years of experience in heavy/structural fabrica on and machine shop components
Knowledge of SAP/ERP systems (preferred)
Ability to work independently
Hands-on experience in heavy machining inspec on
Proficient in assembly inspec on:
Visual and dimensional checks
No-load tes ng
Technical cer ficate (TC) review
Scope verifica on against Bill of Materials (BOM)
Technical Competencies
Thorough knowledge of measuring instruments
Strong understanding of machining, fabrica on, and assembly processes
