Job Title: Art and Craft Teacher
Job Summary: We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and skilled Art and Craft Teacher to inspire students and nurture their artistic talents. The ideal candidate will design and deliver an engaging visual arts curriculum covering sketching, painting, sculpture, origami, upcycling, and mixed media crafts. You will foster self-expression, fine motor skills, and cultural appreciation in an inclusive, vibrant, and safe studio environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Design: Plan and implement an age-appropriate art and craft curriculum for primary and middle school students.
- Skill Instruction: Teach fundamental artistic techniques, including color theory, perspective drawing, shading, clay modeling, and crafting with recycled materials.
- Exhibition Management: Organize, curate, and display student artwork for school events, annual days, and external art competitions.
- Studio Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe art room, ensuring the proper and safe use of tools like scissors, glues, and carving instruments.
- Inventory Control: Track, order, and manage art supplies, materials, and equipment within the allocated annual department budget.
- Inclusive Engagement: Adapt art projects to accommodate different skill levels, encouraging every child to build creative confidence.
- School Collaboration: Work with other department teachers to create props, backdrops, or themes for school plays, festivals, and cultural events.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Master of Fine Arts (MFA), or a Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts/Commercial Art from a recognized institute.
- Professional Certification: A B.Ed. degree or a dedicated diploma in Art Education is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience working as an Art Teacher or Art Instructor in a school or creative activity center.
Core Skills & Competencies:
- Artistic Versatility: Proficiency across a wide range of mediums (e.g., watercolors, acrylics, oil pastels, papercraft, origami, and pottery).
- Classroom Management: Ability to keep large groups of young students focused, messy projects organized, and cleanups structured.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication in English and the local language to explain abstract creative concepts easily.
- Digital Art (Optional but Preferred): Basic knowledge of digital illustration tools or graphic design software is a strong plus.
