Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ASCO Electrical Engineer / Designer to support the ASCO business by developing, modifying, and maintaining electrical designs, schematics, and engineering documentation for power transfer and control systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in PromiseE (EPLAN Pro Panel/PromiseE) and be capable of leveraging the platform to enhance design efficiency, standardization, and documentation quality.
This role will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to support customer requirements, develop electrical drawings, manage engineering documentation, and drive best practices within the organization. In addition to executing design activities, the individual will serve as a PromiseE subject matter expert (SME) and support the training and development of other engineers and designers on the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Engineering & Design

Develop, modify, and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and associated engineering documentation for ASCO products and projects.

Support the design and configuration of transfer switch, power distribution, control, and automation systems.

Create and update electrical designs using PromiseE in accordance with company and industry standards.

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing needs.

Review and validate engineering documentation for completeness and accuracy.

Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and implement design modifications as required.
PromiseE Administration & Support

Serve as the primary resource for PromiseE-related design activities.

Develop and maintain PromiseE templates, macros, parts databases, and design standards.

Promote standardization and efficient design practices across projects.

Troubleshoot PromiseE-related issues and provide user support.

Identify opportunities to streamline design workflows and improve productivity through automation and system enhancements.
Documentation & BOM Management

Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation packages.

Ensure design documentation is properly controlled, released, and updated.

Coordinate with procurement and manufacturing teams to ensure component accuracy and availability.
Training & Knowledge Sharing

Train and mentor engineers and designers on PromiseE tools, workflows, and best practices.

Develop training materials, documentation, and user guides.

Act as a technical resource for design standards and software utilization.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering design processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Project Management teams.

Participate in design reviews and contribute technical recommendations.

Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities when required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.

3–7 years of experience in electrical design, electrical engineering, or control panel design.

Hands-on experience using PromiseE for electrical design and documentation.

Experience creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and engineering documentation.

Understanding of electrical control systems, power distribution systems, and industrial electrical components.

Experience supporting BOM creation and engineering documentation management.
-
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience supporting ASCO products, transfer switch systems, or power management solutions.

Knowledge of EPLAN, PromiseE administration, or electrical design automation tools.

Experience developing design standards, templates, and engineering libraries.

Prior experience training or mentoring engineering teams.

Familiarity with UL, IEC, NEC, NEMA, and relevant electrical industry standards.

Experience working within manufacturing or product development environments.
