Position Summary:
YS Group is seeking a passionate and dedicated History Lecturer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and insightful history lectures, fostering a stimulating learning environment, and inspiring students to explore and appreciate the complexities of history.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Instruction:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive history lectures covering various historical periods and themes.
- Employ diverse teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and engage students in critical thinking.
- Prepare and update course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
Curriculum Development:
- Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the history curriculum.
- Incorporate new research, perspectives, and methodologies into course content.
Student Engagement:
- Provide academic support and guidance to students.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage students to participate in discussions, debates, and extracurricular activities related to history.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and administer assessments to evaluate student performance.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
Research and Scholarship:
- Engage in scholarly research and stay updated with current developments in the field of history.
- Publish research findings in academic journals and present at conferences.
Professional Development:
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
Administrative Duties:
- Attend departmental meetings and contribute to departmental goals and initiatives.
- Assist in the organization of history-related events, workshops, and seminars.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree or higher in History or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching history at the secondary or post-secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of historical events, periods, and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and research.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in History or a related discipline.
- Experience in curriculum development and academic research.
- Publications in academic journals or presentations at conferences.
