We are looking for a skilled Shopify and WordPress Developer who is proficient in both CMS-based development and custom coding. The ideal candidate should be capable of developing, customising, optimising and maintaining high-performing e-commerce and business websites while handling requirements that go beyond standard themes and plugins.
The role requires strong knowledge of Shopify, WordPress, WooCommerce, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP, along with the ability to create custom features, troubleshoot complex issues and deliver responsive, conversion-focused websites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain websites using Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce
- Build complete Shopify and WordPress websites from designs, references or business requirements
- Customise existing themes according to UI/UX and brand requirements
- Develop custom Shopify sections, templates and functionality using Liquid
- Build and modify WordPress themes and child themes
- Develop custom WordPress functionality using PHP
- Create and manage custom post types, custom fields and dynamic content
- Work extensively with page builders such as Elementor
- Integrate and customise WooCommerce functionality
- Create responsive layouts using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Write clean custom code instead of depending entirely on third-party plugins
- Develop custom forms, filters, product sections, navigation systems and interactive components
- Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, shipping services and marketing tools
- Configure product catalogues, collections, variants and e-commerce settings
- Implement custom Shopify metafields and metaobjects
- Troubleshoot theme conflicts, plugin conflicts, PHP errors and JavaScript issues
- Optimise websites for desktop, tablet and mobile devices
- Improve website loading speed and Core Web Vitals
- Perform technical SEO implementation such as heading structure, schema, metadata, redirects, canonicals and sitemap configuration
- Implement tracking tools including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel and conversion events
- Handle domain, DNS, SSL and website migration requirements when needed
- Migrate websites between hosting platforms or from one builder/theme to another
- Perform regular backups, updates, security checks and website maintenance
- Test websites across browsers and devices before deployment
- Coordinate with designers, SEO specialists, performance marketers and content teams.
