Purpose of the Position
The Special Educator is responsible for identifying, assessing, and supporting students with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring inclusive education practices, and working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and professionals to facilitate the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of students.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify students with learning disabilities, developmental delays, behavioral concerns, and other special educational needs through screening and assessment.
- Prepare and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on students' learning needs and monitor their progress.
- Provide remedial instruction and individualized or small-group interventions.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum, teaching strategies, and assessment methods for inclusive education.
- Maintain comprehensive records of assessments, IEPs, progress reports, and intervention plans.
- Counsel and guide parents regarding their child's educational and developmental needs.
- Coordinate with psychologists, therapists, counselors, and medical professionals, wherever required.
- Conduct awareness and capacity-building sessions for teachers on inclusive education and classroom accommodations.
- Assist in identifying suitable assistive technologies and learning resources for students with disabilities.
- Participate in school meetings, parent-teacher meetings, case conferences, and professional development programmes.
- Ensure compliance with the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016, CBSE/DoE guidelines, and other applicable regulations.
- Promote an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualification
The candidate should possess any of the following qualifications recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI):
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (B.Ed. Special Education) recognized by RCI; or
- B.Ed. (General) with Diploma in Special Education recognized by RCI; or
- Diploma in Special Education recognized by RCI (where applicable as per the post requirements).
Essential Requirements
- Valid Registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, and other special educational needs.
- Proficiency in preparing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Good communication, counselling, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office and digital documentation.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Special Educator in a recognized school is desirable.
- Experience in inclusive education and remedial teaching will be preferred.

Working Hours
As per the school's rules and the norms prescribed by the Directorate of Education/CBSE.
Salary
As per school rules and applicable government/DoE norms.
Other Responsibilities
The Special Educator shall perform any other duties assigned by the Principal from time to time in the interest of the school and students.
Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
