Job Requirements
Role of the Category Interface Manager
To be a critical link between the NPD Team and the Category / DEC Team to understand and deliver the specific Projects as per the planned Timelines.
To manage the entire project lifecycle—from Design kick off, CAD, sample development to the final showcase for selection. ensuring that every piece aligns with the brand's quality standards and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management & Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for the Category Manager / DEC, lead communication regarding Project status, CAD, design modifications, and technical specifications etc.
- Product Development (PD) & Sampling: Coordinate with the design, CAD and Sample teams to develop samples that match the briefs. Ensure all samples meet the brand’s aesthetics.
- To develop innovative products aligned with Market needs and high sell thru as per the brief received from Category Team.
- GC: Prepare detailed PDIS with BOM details, control the gold to diamond ratio at each stage and delver the maximum GC in samples
- Research- To actively engage in Market Research, sales analysis, Bestseller analysis, Trends study, etc and use the knowledge in the products developed for DEC/ Category.
- Innovation- To offer innovative settings, techniques, motifs, concepts to Category / DEC Teams.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in jewellery merchandising / PD, with an Indian manufacturing unit catering to Brands / retailers.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of jewellery Design and manufacturing
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, CAD, Corel.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Jewellery Merchandising (e.g., NIFT)
- Soft Skills: High-level English communication for dealing with Category / DEC
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-Time Delivery (OTD) %: Meeting Sample showcase dates as per the Planned Project Calendar.
- Sample-to-Order Conversion: The percentage of developed samples that result in a bulk production order.
- GC Maximisation: Create samples with lowest possible gold weights, aligned with quality expectations, to maximise GC
