The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing and monitoring all raw materials, consumables, tools, bought-out items, and finished/semi-finished goods within the fabrication workshop. The role ensures accurate stock records, timely material availability for production, proper storage practices, and coordination between stores, purchase, and production departments.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials, plates, pipes, structural steel, fasteners, welding consumables, gases, paints, and fabrication accessories.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of materials for uninterrupted production.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile differences.
- Maintain FIFO (First In First Out) inventory practices wherever applicable.
- Track inward and outward material movement.
Material Handling & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain:
- Goods Receipt Notes (GRN)
- Material Issue Slips
- Stock Registers
- Inventory Reports
- Delivery Challans
- Verify received materials against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Coordinate with purchase department regarding shortages or damaged materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Commerce, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in fabrication workshop stores or inventory management.
- Experience in industrial fabrication, heavy engineering, or manufacturing environment preferred.
Pay: ₹18,964.94 - ₹30,889.44 per month
