Job Summary
A Fabric Merchandiser is responsible for sourcing, planning, purchasing, and coordinating fabric requirements for production. The role involves liaising with suppliers, buyers, production teams, and quality departments to ensure the timely availability of fabrics that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Source fabrics from approved suppliers based on buyer specifications.
- Obtain fabric quotations and negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and terms.
- Coordinate fabric development, sampling, and approvals.
- Monitor fabric orders from placement to delivery.
- Ensure timely availability of fabrics for production planning.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding order status and shipment schedules.
- Coordinate with dyeing, knitting, weaving, and processing departments.
- Verify fabric quality, GSM, width, shade, and other specifications.
- Maintain fabric inventory records and consumption reports.
- Resolve fabric-related issues such as shortages, quality concerns, and delays.
- Prepare purchase orders, fabric tracking reports, and MIS reports.
- Work closely with production and quality teams to meet customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, Merchandising, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in fabric merchandising or textile sourcing.
- Knowledge of knitted, woven, and processed fabrics.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and reporting tools.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
