Operations Manager – Telecom / Fiber BroadbandJob Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead end-to-end telecom and fiber broadband operations within the assigned territory. The role will be responsible for managing field installation teams, service delivery operations, vendor partners, and blue-collar workforce to ensure timely customer activations, high service quality, and achievement of operational targets.
The ideal candidate should have experience in telecom, broadband, fiber deployment (FTTx), ISP operations, utility projects, smart metering, or large-scale field operations involving workforce and contractor management.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Service Delivery
- Manage end-to-end fiber broadband installation, activation, and service delivery operations within the assigned territory.
- Ensure timely execution of customer installations and service requests as per defined turnaround times (TAT).
- Monitor daily operational performance and drive achievement of installation and activation targets.
- Ensure smooth execution of fiber rollout, last-mile connectivity, and customer onboarding activities.
Team Management
- Lead and manage field supervisors, installation technicians, service engineers, and blue-collar workforce.
- Allocate daily work orders and monitor team productivity.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and training to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure manpower planning and optimal resource utilization across locations.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Manage vendors and contractors responsible for fiber laying, splicing, installation, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor contractor performance against SLAs and operational KPIs.
- Ensure timely reconciliation and verification of vendor deliverables and payouts.
- Drive accountability and productivity among partner teams.
Customer Experience & Escalation Management
- Ensure superior customer experience through timely installations and service restoration.
- Handle escalated customer complaints and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
- Monitor installation quality and reduce repeat visits and service failures.
- Drive customer satisfaction and retention through operational excellence.
Planning & Execution
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans based on business requirements and installation demand.
- Coordinate with Sales, Network Operations, Customer Support, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Track project milestones and ensure adherence to operational timelines.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Monitor inventory of routers, ONTs, fiber cables, splitters, accessories, and installation materials.
- Ensure proper material issuance, utilization, and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate records of assets deployed in the field.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Track key operational metrics including installations, activations, closures, pending orders, productivity, and SLA compliance.
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports to management.
- Analyze operational data and implement improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs, installation standards, and operational guidelines.
- Conduct field audits and quality inspections.
- Identify operational gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical, or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in Telecom, Broadband, Fiber Deployment (FTTx), ISP Operations, Utility Projects, Smart Metering, or Field Operations.
- Experience managing large field teams, contractors, and vendor partners.
- Strong understanding of installation operations, service delivery, and customer lifecycle management.
- Experience in workforce planning, performance management, and operational reporting.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
