Qatar Airways is seeking experienced professionals to join its established Global Business Services operations in Ahmedabad, India, as a Tax Strategy and Planning Manager, playing a key role in driving and strengthening finance operations.
Lead the development and execution of the Group's global tax strategy while ensuring efficient tax operations, regulatory compliance, tax risk management, and value creation across all jurisdictions. The role acts as an advisor and collaborates with business units to integrate tax considerations into commercial, operational, and other decisions.
Responsibilities:
Strategic
1. Develop and drive the Group's tax strategy to align with corporate objectives and business growth plans.
2. Review and provide tax advisory support on commercial contracts, new business initiatives, strategic partnerships and cross-border transactions.
3. Lead tax planning initiatives to optimize the Group's effective tax rate, cash tax position, and overall tax efficiency while maintaining compliance.
4. Monitor global tax developments including BEPS, Pillar Two, transfer pricing, e-invoicing and legislative changes, and assess their impact on the Group.
5. Establish and maintain tax governance and risk management frameworks to ensure consistent application of tax policies across all jurisdictions.
6. Prepare technical tax position papers, management reports and strategic recommendations on complex tax matters.
7. Lead strategic stakeholder engagement with tax authorities, external advisors and auditors on significant tax matters and policy developments.
Operational
1. Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance assigned to you across all jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filing of returns and regulatory submissions.
2. Ensure timely payment and management of tax liabilities, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding taxes, and other statutory obligations.
3. Manage tax reporting and provisioning processes, including current and deferred tax calculations and financial statement disclosures.
4. Lead transfer pricing compliance activities, including maintenance of documentation, intercompany arrangements, and regulatory reporting requirements.
5. Manage tax audits, assessments, and dispute resolution, coordinating responses to tax authority inquiries and ensuring audit readiness.
6. Review contracts, agreements, and business transactions to identify tax risks and ensure tax-efficient outcomes.
7. Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department
