Job Overview
We are seeking a technically strong and customer-focused Application Engineer – Simulation to support and promote SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation and related CFD tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in fluid flow and thermal analysis and will play a key role in customer support, technical training, pre-sales demonstrations, and solution consulting.
This role blends technical expertise, customer interaction, and solution delivery, with a strong emphasis on CFD applications across industries.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide technical support for SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation and related CFD tools via phone, email, and remote sessions.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to fluid flow, heat transfer, turbulence modeling, and convergence.
- Guide customers on setting up simulations involving internal/external flows, thermal analysis, and HVAC-type problems.
- Maintain proper documentation of cases, solutions, and learnings.
2. Installation & Configuration
- Install and configure SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation and associated tools.
- Assist clients with licensing, solver setup, and hardware optimization for CFD workloads.
- Ensure proper validation of simulation environments post-installation.
3. Training & Knowledge Enablement
- Conduct training programs (online/on-site) on CFD concepts and SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation workflows.
- Educate users on:
- Meshing strategies
- Boundary conditions
- Result interpretation (pressure drop, flow patterns, thermal gradients)
- Drive adoption of advanced CFD capabilities and new features.
4. Pre-sales & Technical Consulting
- Support the sales team by delivering CFD-driven product demonstrations and technical presentations.
- Develop customized proof-of-concepts (PoCs) involving real-world fluid flow and thermal problems.
- Act as a CFD consultant in client discussions, helping identify simulation opportunities and solutions.
5. Continuous Learning & Product Development
- Stay updated with advancements in CFD methodologies, SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation, and Dassault Systèmes tools.
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases, case studies, and technical content focused on CFD applications.
- Evaluate complementary CFD tools such as ANSYS Fluent, CFX, or similar platforms.
Key Skills & Competencies
Mandatory:
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation / CFD tools
- Strong understanding of:
- Fluid mechanics
- Heat transfer
- Turbulence models
- Experience in setting up and interpreting CFD simulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good to Have:
- Basic understanding of FEA (secondary skill)
- Knowledge of meshing techniques and solver behavior
- Exposure to validation methods and correlation with physical testing
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation abilities

- Ability to handle multiple client engagements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Automotive / Production / Design Engineering or equivalent
- Certifications: SOLIDWORKS (Flow Simulation preferred)
- Experience with CFD tools such as:
- ANSYS Fluent / CFX
- Siemens NX (CFD modules)
- Exposure to 3DEXPERIENCE platform and simulation ecosystem
