About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Safety Officer to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards at construction/infrastructure project sites. The role involves inspections, risk assessments, documentation, training, and coordination with multiple stakeholders to prevent electrical hazards and incidents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Safety Compliance
- Inspect electrical installations, panels, cables, DG sets, and equipment as per IS/IEC standards and company safety policies
- Ensure strict adherence to Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures before maintenance
- Verify earthing, bonding, insulation resistance, and related electrical test records
- Ensure only certified and licensed electricians perform live electrical work
2. Risk Assessment & Incident Prevention
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and issue Permit-to-Work for electrical activities
- Identify electrical hazards, unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate electrical incidents, shocks, and near-misses; prepare root cause and preventive action reports
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain electrical inspection reports, test certificates, calibration records, and PPE logs
- Prepare daily and weekly safety reports for the Safety Manager
- Maintain and update electrical single-line diagrams as per site conditions
4. Training & Supervision
- Conduct toolbox talks on electrical safety for electricians and site workers
- Ensure correct use of PPE such as insulated gloves, shoes, face shields, etc.
- Supervise contractor electricians to ensure compliance with safety procedures
5. Coordination & Audits
- Coordinate with site engineers, electrical contractors, and client safety officers
- Plan and communicate electrical shutdowns and energization activities
- Support internal, client, DISCOM, and statutory safety audits
6. Equipment & Site Safety Checks
- Inspect temporary electrical systems, distribution boards, and portable tools
- Ensure availability and validity of fire extinguishers and electrical safety equipment
- Monitor cable laying practices, load distribution, and overloading issues
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid Government Electrical License (Compulsory)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical safety within construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of IS/IEC electrical safety standards
- Ability to work at site locations and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
