Surface Grinding Operator Job DescriptionThe Surface Grinding Operator is responsible for the precision grinding of mould components, inserts, and tool steel parts to specified dimensions and surface finishes. Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating surface grinding machines for manufacturing and rework of mould components.
- Interpreting and understanding detailed engineering drawings, measurements, and tolerances.
- Achieving required dimensional accuracy and surface finish within specified limits.
- Selecting appropriate grinding wheels, balancing them, and performing dressing as required.
- Handling hardened steel, tool steel, and other materials used in injection mould tooling.
- Inspecting finished components using precision measuring instruments.
- Maintaining machine cleanliness and ensuring preventive maintenance as per schedule.
- Collaborating with toolmakers, EDM operators, and CNC machinists for tool assembly and fitting.
- Following all safety protocols and maintaining housekeeping in the grinding area.
- Recording job details, inspection results, and production data in daily logs.
- The Surface Grinding Operator must have a minimum of 2–5 years of experience in precision surface grinding, preferably in tool room environments for injection moulding. Basic knowledge of tool steels and heat treatment effects is also required.
Pay: ₹16,190.70 - ₹20,726.29 per month
