Business Development Manager – Solar Industry (Bangalore)

About the Role
We are looking for a result-oriented, high-energy Business Development Manager to manage a dual-brand portfolio for the Varistor Group. You will handle high-value incoming leads for our solar e-commerce platform (SolarClue) and drive dealer/distributor and OEM operations for our manufacturing brand (Varistor Solar).
This role is only for candidates from a solar industry sales background. Comprehensive product and market training will be provided, but a strong foundation in solar sales, a closer mentality, and fluent Kannada are mandatory from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- For SolarClue (Lead Management & Operations)
- Convert high-quality inbound leads (CRM, web, walk-in) into closed sales
- Understand client requirements and prepare accurate quotations for solar water heaters and heat pumps
- Conduct on-site visits across Bangalore for high-ticket residential and commercial clients, with a focus on closing deals on the spot
- Manage existing vendor relationships and onboard new vendors in new cities
- Build and grow a referral network of plumbers, electricians, contractors, and architects (referral bonus program in place)
- For Varistor Solar (Network Expansion & Procurement)
- Identify and appoint new dealers/distributors to expand the brand's national footprint
- Manage purchasing communication and coordination with OEMs
- Coordinate with the technical team for smooth installation and project commissioning
Candidate Requirements
- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma (technical degree preferred)
- 4–6 years of experience in solar industry sales (mandatory) — solar water heaters, heat pumps, solar EPC, or closely related electrical/building materials sales
- Excellent verbal communication in English and Kannada (mandatory)
- A "closer" mindset — confident, proactive, and comfortable with both office-based and field sales
- Prior working knowledge of solar products, pricing, and competitive landscape
