- Assist gastroenterologists and nurses during endoscopic procedures
- Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment
- Ensure patient comfort and safety before, during, and after procedures
- Sterilize and organize medical instruments
- Record and maintain patient data and procedure documentation
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any abnormalities
- Educate patients on post-procedure care instructions
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment
- Coordinate with medical staff to plan and schedule procedures
Gastroenterology Technician Qualifications & Skills
- Certification from a recognized endoscopy technician program
- Prior experience in a healthcare or medical setting
- Familiarity with endoscopic equipment and procedures
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a medical team
- Proficiency in maintaining medical records and documentation
