A Fiber Optic Splicer is responsible for installing, splicing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic cables to ensure reliable high-speed internet and data services. The role involves both fieldwork and technical troubleshooting to support ISP network infrastructure.
Key Responsibility:
· Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode).
· Prepare and splice fiber optic cables in aerial, underground, and indoor environments.
· Conduct OTDR testing and power meter testing to verify signal strength and continuity.
· Read and interpret fiber splice diagrams, network designs, and blueprints.
· Install fiber enclosures, patch panels, and termination boxes.
· Troubleshoot and repair fiber network faults and service disruptions.
· Maintain accurate splice records and documentation.
· Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
· Coordinate with network engineers and field technicians during installations and maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Fusion splicing
- OTDR testing
- Cable preparation and installation
- Network troubleshooting
- Basic understanding of ISP network architecture (FTTH, FTTB, backbone networks)
- High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification preferred).
- Certification in fiber splicing (preferred).
- Proven experience in fiber optic splicing in telecom or ISP environments.
- Knowledge of fiber color codes and industry standards.
- Ability to operate fusion splicer and OTDR equipment.
Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
