Job Summary
The Sales Manager – Biomass Pellet Sales is responsible for driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities, and managing key customer relationships for biomass pellets. The role focuses on identifying industrial and commercial customers, negotiating long-term supply agreements, achieving sales targets, and expanding market presence. The Sales Manager will work closely with production, logistics, and finance teams to ensure timely deliveries and high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and volume targets for biomass pellets.
- Identify and acquire new customers in industries such as power plants, cement, paper, textiles, food processing, chemicals, boilers, and other thermal energy users.
- Generate leads through market research, networking, industry events, and customer visits.
- Conduct product presentations and technical discussions with prospective customers.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and convert opportunities into long-term business.
Customer Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Understand customer fuel requirements and recommend suitable biomass pellet solutions.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and after-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, contracts, and supply agreements.
Market Development
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, fuel price movements, and customer demand.
- Identify opportunities in domestic and export markets.
- Develop strategic partnerships with distributors, traders, and industrial clients.
- Promote biomass pellets as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.
Sales Operations
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and commercial offers.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely product availability and deliveries.
- Monitor order execution, payment collections, and customer accounts.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM records, and sales reports.
Coordination
- Work closely with production, quality, logistics, finance, and procurement departments.
- Support product trials and customer demonstrations.
- Participate in exhibitions, trade fairs, and renewable energy conferences.
Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Track sales performance against targets and budgets.
- Present market intelligence and business development opportunities to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
- MBA in Marketing or Sales is preferred.
- 5–10 years of sales experience in biomass, renewable energy, solid fuels, industrial fuels, energy solutions, or related industries.
Required Skills
- Strong B2B sales and business development experience.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Good understanding of industrial boilers, thermal energy systems, and alternative fuels.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel extensively for customer visits and business development.
Preferred Experience
- Experience selling biomass pellets, briquettes, agro-residues, biofuels, coal substitutes, or industrial energy products.
- Existing network within industries such as power generation, cement, paper, food processing, textiles, chemicals, and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of biomass fuel quality parameters, combustion systems, and sustainability practices.

- Achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Revenue and gross margin growth.
- New customer acquisition and market expansion.
- Customer retention and satisfaction.
- Collection efficiency and reduction of outstanding receivables.
- Accuracy of sales forecasts and CRM updates.
- Long-term supply agreements secured.
Working Conditions
- Office-based with frequent travel to customer sites, industrial plants, and trade events.
- Willingness to travel extensively within assigned territories.
- Flexibility to meet customer schedules and business requirements.
