POSITION OVERVIEW
Summary: The Quality Check Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire quality assurance process throughout the jewellery manufacturing cycle, from raw materials to final product. This role ensures all products meet internal standards and customer expectations for precision, finish, and authenticity, especially concerning diamonds and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control & Inspection:
- Conduct detailed quality checks on diamond jewellery at various stages of production (casting, polishing, setting, finishing).
- Ensure diamonds meet specifications in terms of 4Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat) and are ethically sourced.
- Verify workmanship, including setting alignment, symmetry, polish, soldering, and plating.
- Perform final quality inspection before packaging and dispatch.
2. Process Management:
- Develop and implement robust quality assurance protocols and SOPs.
- Establish quality benchmarks and tolerance levels for different jewellery categories.
- Work closely with production, design, and sourcing teams to ensure quality integration at every step.
3. Team Supervision:
- Lead and train a team of QC inspectors.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct regular training for quality staff on defect identification and grading
- techniques.
4. Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, defects, reworks, and final approvals.
- Prepare quality reports for internal use and for clients as required.
- Track and analyze rejection trends and implement corrective actions.
5. Client & Compliance Coordination:
- Liaise with clients on quality concerns and special requirements.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g.,BIS Hallmarking,and
- International Hallmarking).
- Coordinate with certification agencies (GIA, IGI, EGL,SGL) as needed.

- Strong knowledge of diamond grading and jewellery manufacturing processes.
- Keen eye for detail with a high level of precision.Problem-solving and root cause analysis for quality issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with tools like loupes, microscopes, weighing scales, and QC software.

- First-pass yield (products passing QC without rework)
- Reduction in customer complaints and returns
- Inspection accuracy and defect identification rates
- Team performance and training effectiveness
